A multinational retail company engaged AnotherDay’s physica lsecurity consultants to provide terrorism risk assessments and mitigation to their sites across Europe. This review was prompted by the signing of Martyn’s Law, as although the sites were well protected from theft, terrorism mitigation had previously been a lower priority consideration.

The Process

AnotherDay consultants conducted site security assessmentsof each location in turn, with a focus on understanding the ability of on-site security teams to rapidly detect and respond to a potential incident. These were supported by our Threat Intelligence team, who provided insight into the relevant threat actors for each location, as well as the most likely and potentially most dangerous incident scenarios.

As part of this process, consultants conducted tabletop exercises with security guards and operations managers to further understand the effectiveness of existing risk mitigation measures.

Protections such as Hostile Vehicle Mitigation were also considered throughout, with consultants informing future design choices and engineering teams across multiple countries.

The Result

Once the assessments and exercises had concluded, consultants provided individual risk assessments to each site manager that contained prioritised risk mitigation feedback. These were then collated for the company’s upper management, allowing for a consolidated understanding of their entire portfolio risk.
