HIRING

Consultant, Threat Intelligence

£50,000 - £60,000 (London)

We're currently looking for a new Consultant to join our Threat Intelligence team, working out of our office in London (ideally 2-3 days a week in the office). This is a client-facing role that requires the ability to operate independently in complex, high-risk environments while delivering timely, actionable intelligence.

You'll be working with global organisations across a range of sectors - from multinational corporations operating in politically sensitive regions, to financial institutions navigating sanctions regimes, to technology companies managing supply chain risks - helping them understand and mitigate threats that could impact their operations, reputation, and strategic objectives.

We are looking for someone who has experience assessing emerging threats, conducting enhanced due diligence investigations in challenging environments, and translating complex geopolitical and security developments into clear, executive-ready intelligence products. You'll typically be engaging directly with CEOs, Chief Risk Officers and Heads of Security, who rely on our assessments to make critical business decisions.

Recent project examples include:

  • Conducting real-time threat assessments for a major European energy company following escalating tensions in a key operational region, providing daily intelligence briefings to the executive team.
  • Producing enhanced due diligence reports on potential suppliers for a firm operating in high-risk markets across Africa and Asia.
  • Delivering rapid response intelligence following a coup attempt in West Africa, assessing implications for multiple clients with operations in the region and providing actionable recommendations within short timeframes.
  • Conducting deep-dive investigations into potential reputational threats targeting a major consumer brand, including social media manipulation campaigns and coordinated disinformation efforts.
  • Leading executive briefings for the Board of a major infrastructure company on emerging threats from state-sponsored actors targeting critical national infrastructure.
  • Travelling to countries relevant to our clients to develop local relationships and ‘ground truth’ intelligence on local operating conditions.

As a member of an agile and flexible team working across security, crisis management and investigations, you will also be required to support other teams as necessary with accurate and timely intelligence.

Who are we looking for?

We want someone who works well with colleagues and rises to the occasion under pressure, bringing both the analytical rigor to create top-tier intelligence products and the presence to confidently brief client teams in a clear and concise manner. Do you:

  • Have a genuine passion for understanding how geopolitical events translate into business risks?
  • Possess the confidence to present complex threat assessments to C-suite executives, sometimes as the sole presenter?
  • Have experience conducting investigations or due diligence in high-risk, politically sensitive, or emerging market environments? Often involving human source intelligence.
  • Demonstrate the ability to rapidly synthesize information from multiple sources during fast-moving geopolitical situations?
  • Show comfort working independently on sensitive projects while maintaining strict confidentiality?
  • Have a track record of producing clear, actionable written reports under tight deadlines?
  • Possess strong proposal writing skills and experience winning new business?
  • Have experience managing demanding, high-stakes client relationships?
  • Possess the ability to maintain composure and deliver quality work during periods of significant stress or crisis?
  • Have experience working with sensitive information and maintaining appropriate security protocols?

If so, we would love to hear from you. Whilst it’s not necessary, we think this role is best suited to someone with around 5 years’ experience in a relevant intelligence role, ready to take on more responsibility for direct client engagement. Language skills relevant to key operational regions such as Europe, the Middle East, South America, Africa and South-East Asia would be advantageous, as would experience living or working in emerging markets or conflict-affected regions.

What kind of work would I be doing?

The role combines strategic analysis with hands-on investigation and high-level client engagement. Due to the nature of the work, this often changes throughout the year and requires flexibility and a keenness to adapt. However, the role will predominantly focus on:

  • Threat assessments and analysis: Monitoring global developments and rapidly assessing their potential impact on client operations, producing timely written assessments and briefing materials.
  • Enhanced due diligence: Conducting comprehensive investigations into individuals, companies, and jurisdictions on behalf of clients, often in regions with limited transparency or significant political risks. These often include managing a human source network.
  • Executive briefings: Presenting threat assessments and intelligence findings directly to C-suite executives and Board members, often as the primary subject matter expert.
  • Business development: Writing proposals for new threat intelligence engagements and presenting capabilities to prospective clients alongside senior team members, or individually.
  • Client management: Serving as the primary intelligence contact for key clients, managing ongoing intelligence requirements and maintaining trusted advisor relationships.
  • Cross-team collaboration: Working across teams to integrate threat intelligence with security risk management, crisis response, and civil or criminal investigations.

What's the package?

We’ve always felt that it’s really important to be totally transparent with our people about what we can offer. It’s also very important to us that our team are completely incentivised to do their best to help our clients, and feel comfortable that they have a future in a fast-growing, innovative firm where their personal growth is prioritised and they can have influence over what we do, the direction we’re going in, and the work we do for our clients. The successful candidate will:

  • Receive between £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
  • Excellent company pension program
  • Benefit from full health insurance and an excellent private pension scheme.
  • Regular access to a training budget for external professional development courses, as well as courses we run internally (like Crisis Management or language courses).
  • Flexible working and holiday arrangements.
  • Have the opportunity to have a real say on what we do and how we do it, including our direction and culture in a small but high growth firm.
  • Get to travel to various countries, both as part of projects and on business development trips.

What's the application process?

We want to ensure we are finding the right fit for this role, and as such have designed a three-stage approach, to ensure it is a good fit for both us, and you.

  • Stage 1 - Initial assessment: Submit your CV alongside completing the required threat intelligence assessment. This will consist of two questions designed to test core competencies essential to the role. Although we recognise the importance of literacy in technologies such as AI, for this assessment we require that AI/LLM software is not used in the preparation of your assessment answers.
  • Stage 2 - Team interview: Successful candidates will be invited for an informal lunch/dinner with 2-3 team members. Alongside your experience and capabilities, we want to use this stage to understand you as a person, explore what you could bring to the team and ensure there’s a mutual fit for the role and company.
  • Stage 3 - Presentation: If we believe you'd be an exceptional addition to the team, you'll be invited to present your findings from the initial assessment task at our office in Bank. This mirrors the real-world requirement to brief senior executives and allows us to see how you perform under the pressure of presenting sensitive intelligence to decision-makers.

If we make the decision to go forward, with your permission, we'll conduct thorough reference checks to complete the process.

Our assessments are specifically designed to evaluate your ability to rapidly absorb complex information, identify critical issues, develop actionable solutions, and present your analysis with the confidence and clarity that executives require. We're looking for candidates who can leverage analytical thinking, strong writing skills, creativity and confidence to deliver exception work for our clients.

Throughout this process, you'll have also have the opportunity to understand our team culture and working environment. We'll ensure you can speak candidly with team members at your level about the realities of threat intelligence consulting at AnotherDay, including both the challenges and rewards of operating in this unique space. We believe the best hiring decisions happen when both sides have complete transparency about expectations and culture.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Assessment task 1

Client context: Our client is a UK-headquartered manufacturer of medical equipment, with main production facilities in the UK and Europe. The company has two small offices in Pakistan, located in Karachi and Islamabad, each with 5 to 10 expatriate staff. These offices play a vital role in managing the client’s supply chain, particularly in sourcing and coordinating surgical device components produced locally in Pakistan and shipped via Karachi port to the UK and Europe.

Escalation context: Following two consecutive monsoon failures in 2026, northern Pakistan faces a critical water shortage. In 2026, India greenlights a new dam in Jammu & Kashmir that results in reduced downstream flow into Pakistan by roughly 25%. Pakistani state media labels this act of water diversion as an act of aggression by India. Earlier this week, a terrorist attack was conducted on the dam site, killing several construction workers. The Indian Intelligence Bureau alleges that the attack was carried out by Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) with the full knowledge of the Pakistani military.

You are required to produce an intelligence report outlining three potential escalation scenarios that could plausibly emerge within the India–Pakistan security environment over the next 12 months.

For each scenario:

  • Assign a likelihood rating using the PHIA Probability Yardstick, and provide a justification for the probability of each scenario.
  • Identify three key risk indicators that would signal the scenario is materialising.
  • Outline the potential impacts of each scenario on our client.

Following the scenarios, provide five tailored risk mitigation recommendations relevant to the client.

The report should not exceed 1,000 words. You are free to select the format you believe best conveys the intelligence, including the use of visual aids (e.g. maps, charts, or timelines) if these enhance clarity or decision-making value.

Assessment task 2

Our client is a multinational energy company considering the acquisition of a local oil firm in Brazil. They have commissioned us to conduct an enhanced due diligence investigation into the local firm. The company is predominantly concerned with achieving an understanding of the structure, funding, and key personnel of the company, as well as any potential compliance, ethics, or reputational concerns that relate to it and its Directors and Officers.

Your task is to formulate an intelligence collection plan for this project. The plan should address the following:

  • Types of intelligence you would prioritise collecting and your methodology for the collection, processing, and analysis of intelligence.
  • Key risk indicators you aim to identify relating to the entity.
  • Examples of industry-standard tools, databases, or other resources you would use to support your investigation.

Please note: this task is limited to the planning stage only. You are not required to conduct any part of the investigation or analyse the target entity’s risk profile at this point.

The intelligence collection plan should be no more than 500 words and written in a format you assess to be most suitable.
